Announcing the $10k Prize Pool CS2 5v5 LAN @ TGX Powered by SteelSeries. The LAN will start with 12 teams being split into 2 groups for a Round Robin, followed by the top 4 teams competing in a Single Elimination Bracket Finals. PC’s, peripherals & fun will be provided by our amazing partner Mwave.
This tournament will be broadcasted on the Steel Series twitch channel https://www.twitch.tv/steelseries.

1.1 | Minimum Age |
All participants must be at least 15 years of age at the time of the first day of tournament play. | |
1.2 | Region |
All participants must attend the tournament in person at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. | |
1.3 | Existing Ban |
Any participant with an active ban from FACEIT, ESL, Valve, or ESIC is prohibited from participating in the tournament. In addition, the Tournament Organiser can prohibit participants at their sole discretion. | |
1.4 | Ticket |
All participants must have a valid ticket for TGX on Saturday the 23rd of March. | |
1.5 | Team |
Any team with a participant who has been ruled ineligible from the tournament will also be ineligible. |
2.1 | In-Game Name (Alias) | |
Participants may not use any in-game name (also referred to as an Alias) which: – Contains vulgar or offensive language – Contains a sponsor or product name or short name – Is already in use by another participant The Tournament Organiser may restrict an Alias from being used at any time, including for reasons outside those listed above. | ||
2.2 | Multiple Team | |
Participants are restricted from being on more than one team at a time. | ||
2.3 | Team Size | |
A team will consist of at least 5 Players, up to 3 Substitute Players & 1 Coach. All members of a team must be eligible under Rule 1 – Eligibility. | ||
2.4 | Team Continuity | |
Teams must play with at least 3 Core Members in every match in the tournament. – For Invited Teams, the Core Members are the 5 participants initially offered the invite. – For teams competing in an Open Stage, the Core Members are the 5 players initially signed up as Players on the team. – For teams competing in a Qualified Stage, the Core Members are the 5 players who played the most maps from the previous stage/tournament. | ||
2.5 | Substutites | |
Substitute Players must be added to a team at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time of a match, at the discretion of the Tournament Organiser. | ||
Substitute Players may only be used in place of a Player before the first round of record of a map. | ||
Coaches cannot be used as a Substitute Player. | ||
2.5.1 | Emergency Substitutes | |
In the event of an emergency (such as a medical issue, power outage, or other extraordinary circumstance outside of a player’s control) a Substitute Player not previously listed may be substituted at the sole discretion of the Tournament Organiser. | ||
2.6 | Coaches | |
At this time coaches are not permitted to be in the match server. Coaches may only be used as a substitute in the event of an emergency. | ||
2.7 | Extrajudicial Agreements | |
Agreements made between participants (typically referred to as “Gentlemen’s Agreements) are not sanctioned or enforceable by the Tournament Organiser. | ||
2.8 | Team Transfer | |
Any participant wanting to transfer teams after the tournament has started must seek approval from the Tournament Organiser. | ||
2.9 | Roster Lock | |
Participants will be informed of the date of a roster lock by the Tournament Organiser. |
3.1 | Group Stage | |
2 Groups of 6 Teams competing in a Single Round Robin – playing each other team in their group in a Bo1. | ||
Top 2 Teams from each group will advance to the Finals. Top 2 will be determined by: – Wins – Head-to-Head – Round Difference | ||
3.2 | Finals | |
The top 2 Teams from each group will play a 4 Team Single Elimination Bracket, with a third place decider. | ||
All matches will be Bo3’s. | ||

4.1 | Game Version | |
All matches in the tournament will be played on the latest version of Counter-Strike 2. In the event of a patch that is unstable, abusable, or includes a significant change to the game, the Tournament Organiser may instruct participants to use a beta version. | ||
4.2 | Map Pool | |
The tournament will use the current Active-Duty map pool, including: – de_ancient – de_anubis – de_inferno – de_mirage – de_nuke – de_overpass – de_vertigo | ||
4.3 | Veto | |
4.3.1 | Bo1 | |
– Team A bans 1 map. – Team B bans 1 map. – Team A bans 1 map. – Team B bans 1 map. – Team A bans 1 map. – Team B bans 1 map. – The remaining map will be played. Knife round to determine starting side. | ||
4.3.2 | Bo2 | |

4.3.5 | Map Advantage | |
A map advantage may be awarded to a team for winning through the upper bracket. Where indicated by the Tournament Organiser, the last map in the veto order will not be played and instead, count towards a 1-0 map score for the appropriate team. | ||
4.4 | In-Game Settings | |
The following in-game commands will be used: – mp_roundtime 1.92 – mp_freezetime 20 – mp_startmoney 800 – mp_maxrounds 24 – mp_overtime_maxrounds 6 – mp_overtime_startmoney 12500 – mp_maxrounds 24 – mp_roundtime 1.92 | ||
4.5 | Communication | |
Coaches will have unrestricted access to communicate with their team. Participants may not use the in-game all chat for anything other than communication with the Tournament Organiser. | ||
4.6 | Tactical Timeouts | |
Teams will be permitted 3 tactical timeouts of 30 seconds each during regulation time. In overtime, all remaining timeouts will be removed & teams will be permitted 1 tactical timeout of 30 seconds. | ||
4.7 | Technical Pauses | |
Teams are permitted to call a technical pause when a participant has an issue that would prevent them from playing the match. The total technical pause time for online matches may not exceed 5 minutes per team unless extended by the Tournament Organiser. | ||
4.8 | Admin Pause | |
The Tournament Organiser may pause the match at any time. | ||
4.9 | Anti-Cheat | |
All players are required to have FACEIT Anti-Cheat installed and running for every match of the tournament. |
5.1 | Config Files |
Players may alter the config.cfg & autoexec.cfg files provided that it does not give an unfair or unreasonable advantage. If you are unsure what does and does not provide an unfair advantage, contact the Tournament Organiser for clarification. | |
5.2 | Script |
Scripts (including macros) are generally prohibited except for jump throw, clear decals & buy scripts. | |
5.3 | Drivers |
Any graphics, peripheral, or other driver that has been modified to provide an advantage is prohibited. | |
5.4 | Overlays |
Any overlay, software, or firmware is prohibited (e.g. monitor overlay, windows application overlay, etc) | |
5.5 | Game Files |
Any modification to the game files is prohibited. | |
5.6 | Bugs/Glitches |
Any intentional exploitation of a bug or glitch is prohibited. If you are unsure if an action is a bug or glitch, contact the Tournament Organiser for clarification. | |
5.7 | Positions |
Any position that involves a pixel walk, glitched texture, or other unfair advantage is prohibited. If you are unsure if a new position meets these criteria, contact the Tournament Organiser for clarification. | |
5.8 | Other Software |
Any software that provides an unfair advantage to a participant is prohibited. Examples include: – Aimhacks – Wallhacks – Radarhacks – Any other form of cheating |
Where a rule has been breached and/or a prohibited action has been taken, the following penalties will apply depending on severity and mitigating circumstances. | |
6.1 | Disqualification |
A participant or team may be disqualified from the tournament during play, resulting in any future matches being forfeited. If the reason for disqualification suggests that previous results may be impacted, those results may be overturned. | |
6.2 | Bans |
A participant or team may be banned from any future tournaments organised by the Tournament Organiser. | |
6.3 | Prize Forfeiture |
A participant or team may be subject to forfeiture of any prizes awarded to them. |
The Tournament Organiser has complete discretion over any parts of this rulebook & may choose to overrule an aspect to protect the “spirit of the rule”. |
